I love the outfits with those floor-brushing skirts. Very tznius, though I'm sure a certain someone wouldn't like it -- they don't look enough like airline stewardesses.

(not to mention they all cover their hair - can't get more tznius than that wink.gif )
ah. didn't we determine a long time ago that you were born in the wrong era? smile.gif

But with a lot of hair showing. It wouldn't pass OPS muster. Plus the belt accentuates her waist.

By the way, is that a subway grate she stepped over ala Marilyn Munroe?

I wouldn't like it because I would think that kind of clothing would really limit one's ability to move. Then again, the same is true of many of the tznius clothes today.

No way she could run a marathon or go skydiving in that...

If you read the comments to the video you'll this is actually where that whole thing originated.

So true. I should have been born 100 years earlier. smile.gif

That's right. The one skirt that really gives you freedom to move is the Biz skirt and we see how that's almost uniformly frowned on here.

Plus, sneakers are a lot better for freedom of movement than shoes, but again, sneakers are Not Acceptable.

When my niece was working on her degree in fashion design she took a class on the history of women's fashion. It was taught by a woman whose graduate thesis was on the use of restrictive clothing to supress women. Yes, she was a radical feminist, but I think she had a point.

I just wonder if Thomas Edison could have ever imagined this movie would be on YouTube...

Of course she had a point. You think corsets didn't keep women down? And why do you think suffragettes invented "bloomers"?

Though the irony is that in 1901 women wore these kinds of outfits to work in factories and sweatshops, which is a lot more physical than sitting around and typing on a computer all day.

And that's many decades before women would start removing their body hair. When will that become "untznius" already?!!
