How to talk to a labeled person, is it unfair to point out different POVs?
Shemmy
All people are labeled. Taxonomy is a natural result of developed language and relational awareness. Why would it be unfair to point out a different frame of reference?

Because they may exhibit symptoms of emotional pain.

Why do you assume that labels will automatically pain people?

Does labelling someone a man or woman give them pain? How about a person as opposed to a monkey or a carrot? An American vs. a Canadian?

What about labelling someone "gifted" or "artistic" or "tall"?

No, by showing different labels that they aren't, such as showing a chareidi a secular POV, it may cause them pain

Hmm. I disagree with that point of view but I didn't experience any physical pain. . .

For someone Haredi to be pained by exposure to a secular point of referencce, they would have to severly lack any sort of internal fortitude.

Labels are great because otherwise I might put something in the wash that's really Dry Clean Only.
