How long should it take to get my NY income tax refund?

I filed electronically, and the IRS refund came within a week, but it's been several additional weeks and I haven't received anything from NY.

Have you tried to use the feature on their website to check on your refund status?

Yes; it says, "We already told you we received your $%^& return. We'll get to it when we're good and ready. Don't bother us again for at least a week, if you know what's good for you!"

I can't believe that only one person has answered, and he doesn't even live in New York.

There are hundreds of people on this board who live in New York. Don't any of you pay taxes?

Yes but my refund is a large negative number....

What does it really say?

My NYS return was processed 3 weeks after I filed it (paper) and 2 days after the federal return was processed. (Confused now? Good! )

(there are always those who didn't file yet )

I didn’t answer b/c I don’t know! I got one already - took under a month - and when I went online for the other, they ALSO asked me not to bother them again for a week!

So they are taking longer to process the electronic returns than they take to process the paper ones. Lovely.
