Full Version: Chavrusa Shiur

Suppose there is a shiur in which I'm interested (for women, of course). The flyer says to RSVP so that chavrusas can be paired appropriately. However, I already discussed it with a friend and we want to learn together so neither of us is really interested in being paired.

1. Is it rude to make my own pairing since the flyer clearly says the teacher will be making pairings?

2. Do I/we need to RSVP since the stated purpose is to make pairings and we're all set?

Firstly, it could be they are assuring people they will find them pairs as not having a chavrusa might put someone off.
Secondly, it can't hurt to rsvp but state you and your chavrusa so they know you are sorted out

I should clarify that this is hypothetical.

That is, there is such a shiur at my shul and I would be interested but seeing as how it conflicts with my duties as a wife/mother, I can't go.
